The new partnership means that the Rossoneri will appear both at site at the Expo, as well as in content created with the stars and ambassadors of the club.
The aim is to promote Expo’s values as well as to “inspire positive change through football,” AC Milan writes in their press release.
– Expo 2020 are delighted to be partnering with AC Milan. Expo’s values are very much aligned with the club, where we share a belief in empowering people to be the best version of themselves, Sholto Douglas-Home, Chief Sales for Expo 2020 said.
Both the Expo and AC Milan appears to have much to gain from this partnership. Expo reaches AC Milan’s fanbase of 500 million fans internationally, and AC Milan can strengthen their presence in the Middle East, which they themselves claim is a key market.
This partnership is not the only tie Expo 2020 has to football. Lionel Messi kicked off the three month count down to the opening and Expo 2020 has earlier announced a partnership with City Football Group, tying them together with English Premier League champions Manchester City.
