News:  Now it is official - Sweden ended up in forth place in Expo World Cup amongst the 32 participating countries, after losing against Brazil. The football cup has brought, not only the team, but the entire Swedish pavilion closer together.

News:  It was an even battle when Sweden met Oman in the Expo world Cup semi finals. The game ended with penalties and Oman made it through to the finals. On Friday January 14 Sweden will play for third place against Brazil.

Swedish lab develops poison for mosquitoes to fight malaria

News:  Scientists based in Stockholm say they have developed a new tool to target and kill mosquitoes. By isolating a molecule in the malaria parasite that only attracts mosquitoes, and mixing it in beetroot juice alongside toxins that kill the insects, the resulting mixture attracts the mosquitoes to feed and then kills them.

News:  Former professional footballer Christian "Chippen" Wilhelmsson has joined the Swedish team for Expo World Cup. On January 9 he will play the quarter finals against the UAE.

Scania endorses global Memorandum of Understanding for zero-emission vehicles

Scania:  On COP26 Transport Day, Scania announces another strong commitment to zero-emission vehicles with its endorsement of a first ever global Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on zero-emission trucks and buses. It is a coordinated effort by governments and industry leaders that have agreed to support and work towards the MoU goals and to facilitate net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The initiative is driven by CALSTART and the government of the Netherlands

Scania builds extremely heavy and extra-long electrified truck for Jula Logistics

Scania:  The Swedish company Jula Logistics uses a 32 metres Scania truck as High Capacity Transport to be able to bring more cargo for each transport and consequently lower emissions. Now it’s time for the next step: the huge truck will be powered by electricity. This is the latest example of a sustainable transport solution that Scania develops in close collaboration with a progressive customer.
