Welcome to movie nights in the Swedish Forest
Under the Expo theme week ‘’Tolerance and Inclusivity’’, the Embassy of Sweden in the UAE presents the film festival of the Swedish Pavilion at Expo 2020. Three Swedish movies have been selected that are based on real life events, they touch on topics such as integration, accessibility, and misrepresentation. Conversations and discussions will follow together with the main characters which aims to bring awareness to the challenges that individuals and society face when moving towards a more tolerant and inclusive world.

Gina Dirawi is the Swedish-Arab super talent who quickly became popular by leading Sweden’s biggest shows. However, as her popularity increased, hatred against her grew. In this documentary we get to follow Gina’s journey from success, to the fear of being successful. Highlighting the actions that must be taken to combat the challenges that you face when being misrepresented in media.

Somali- Swedish players from the Swedish town Borlänge who have never stood on a pair of skates before were now being trained by professional Swedish bandy players to represent Somalia in the World Championships.
