Getinge’s sustainability work is an integral part of our passion for life

Getinge:   We help our customers save lives with a commitment to conducting business that is socially, ethically and environmentally sound across the entire value chain. By respecting our customers, employees and the planet in everything we do, we make a positive impact on society, today and in the future.

Sustainability is an integral part of Getinge’s business and one of the aims is to secure long-term value creation for our customers. There are several ongoing activities to minimize the environmental footprint and in 2020, Getinge announced the objective to become CO2 neutral by 2025.

Getinge’s Sustainability Program 2019-2024 is based on a materiality analysis where all parts of the business identified their impact on social and environmental aspects and set directions for the way forward.

The engagement level is summarized in eight non-financial targets, which cover emissions from production, emissions from company cars, energy in production, customer satisfaction, hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, safe workplace and employee engagement.

Our sustainability work is structured within three areas:

Business Ethics:

Getinge has signed the UN Global Compact and we support its ten principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. The sustainability work is governed by our Code of Conduct and a number of policies in a number of areas, such as human rights, anti-corruption and the environment.

A Sustainable Offer:

By using EcoDesign principles to design products with special consideration for the environmental impact during their entire lifecycle, we minimize the use of materials, ensure that our products are recyclable and help our customers reduce their consumption of energy, water and other consumables.

People & Society:

At Getinge, we strive to make a positive and sustainable contribution to the communities we are active in. Our corporate social work are built on high standards regarding health and safety, human rights, discrimination and ethics. All employees are involved in acting as role models for ethical behaviour and professional integrity
