ABB's giants practiced 3 years for the Olympics
This dynamic installation is part of an art festival in Tokyo which runs parallel to the Olympics. It is inspired by athletes motions and the traditional zen garden.
“The constant gardeners,” as the artwork is called, is constantly created by taking video-footage of the athletes in action and then interpreting it in the garden.
The robots drawing out the art weigh 1.3 tonnes each, but despite their mass, they create the precise pattern of the athletes. Watch the video above to see how it’s done.
