What Burj Khalifa and Västerås have in common
The theme of Expo 2020 is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” and ABB’s showcase will concretize this. “ABB is proud to be part of this exhibition that addresses the key challenges our world is faced with today,” Björn Rosengren, CEO of ABB, said.
Being located in the Sustainability District at Expo, the Swedish pavilion puts stress on the importance of sustainable development. This mirrors Sweden’s investment and export strategy and the official partners and country’s biggest exporting companies are on the same path.
Anna Hallberg, Sweden’s Minister of Foreign Trade, lifted ABB as a valued part of this development. “I am very proud that Sweden and Swedish companies are at the forefront of this development. ABB is a brilliant example of this, and I highly value their participation as an official partner to the Swedish pavilion.”
Concretizing this ideal is Västerås, Sweden’s fifth largest urban area. Here, ABB’s solutions helps turning the city into one of the smartest in the country. The company has however concretized this earlier, outside of Sweden. Their electrification solutions can be found in the Burj Khalifa and their automation and electrification technology are also found in Dubai’s International Airport and the cities metro system.
“We are convinced that our electrification and automation solutions play an important role in showcasing the power of innovation and technology for a more sustainable world,” Björn Rosengren explaines.
