International demand for Swedish wood surges
IN COLLABORATION WITH SMART CITY SWEDEN.
Smart City Sweden stands host for a two day event at Expo 2020, 2:nd and 3:rd of November – where leading experts from academia, companies, and organizations will discuss possibilities and challenges associated with modern cutting edge wooden construction.
“Wood is one way to create a lower footprint, not only is it renewable, while growing it also capture the carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. We want to bring out the possibilities with wood when creating sustainable cities”, says Gina Aspelin Hedbring, Project Manager at Smart City Sweden.
The two day event will be held simultaneously in Stockholm, Sweden and Dubai, UAE.
From the main stage at Södra teater, Stockholm, the expert panel will adress questions being asked from the Swedish Pavilion in Dubai.
Swedish export of wood constructions goes currently mainly to the Nordic neighbors, but there is also interested to export to the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Japan.
The combination of high-quality timber and entrepreneurship, places Sweden at the international forefront.
At the the two-day event taking place in the Swedish pavilion and in Stockholm, you will hear Swedish examples of unique constructions, such as one of the tallest wooden buildings in the world in the city of Skellefteå, and the construction of the Swedish Pavilion in Dubai, where sustainability has been the core of the construction process.
