The three-point safety belt
Three-point safety belt, or “just” the seatbelt as we know it today, was invented by Nils Ivar Bohlin for Volvo 1959. In order to save lives, the company made the patent open.
The ball bearing
Aiding the industrial revolution, the ball bearing was refined by Sven Wingquist in 1907 with his invention the multi-row self-regulating radial ball bearings. This paved the way for one of Sweden’s largest export successes.
