The pavilion made out of wood – get a tour of the construction
The Swedish pavilion is an architectural forrest placed in the Dubai desert at Expo, in the sustainability district.
“Most construction materials, especially concrete and steel, are main sources for carbon dioxide. Timber on the other hand is a carbon dioxide sink. The trees that are fell for building this pavilion are replaced with new trees, continuing to bind the carbon dioxide”, says Staffan Schartner, who is head of the construction.
