“Have to be aware of the power balance”
Charlotte Aschim has been working in the food industry since she was twelve years old – hotels, restaurants and grocery stores.
“I got first hand experience with food waste. I was one of the managers that walked the aisle in the grocery stores looking for food that was about to expire”, she says.
She wanted to fix a problem and three years ago, in 2018, she founded her software company that tracks expiration dates.
“We ensure traceability of food, eliminate food waste and make sure the entire food industry is more circular then it currently is”.
The journey has not been easy. One of the challenges she has faced when starting the company was within the investment scene.
“It is a huge challenge. I feel as a women starting a company you have to be aware of the power balance, it is not where it is suppose to be”.
In the video above she talks about how it is to work in the male dominated tech industry.
